About DISC training
We have a weekly session at DISC, read about it here
We have booked DISC for Sunday evenings from 5-7pm, starting on April 13th 2008 and running until September 28th. These sessions will resume on Sunday the 12th of April 2009 and will run until Sunday the 27th of September 2009.
Eash session has a program we'll be following, you can see the
sessions here.
The sessions will be suitable for novice track riders as well as
experienced riders and will be organised with specific, planned drills
designed to suit your training plans, similar to Tuesday night spin
classes.
The sessions will run almost every Sunday, I expect one a month will
be either run by another invited coach, or not run at all. I'm going to
talk to Stuart Vaughan and see if he is available for the 4th Sunday a
month. I need some time away from bikes and riders! Sessions will
be divided into Sprint and Enduro, with sprinters and enduro riders
having alternating 20 minute blocks of time.
We have the option of doing motorpacing where and when it's suitable.
This will mainly be useful for sprinters doing assisted high speed
drills, but some enduro exercises can benefit from motorpacing
also.
This is primarily for aboc riders, but we're extending an invite to
non-aboc people.
Sessions will be $20 per rider to attend for 2 hours, juniors (U18) on
request can attend for $18 per rider and if you've got a family talk to
me and we'll see if we can give you a group discount. I need this
to run at a small profit but I am not being greedy! I'd much
rather it break even and be well attended than profitable but have few
regulars coming along.
Track bicycles can be hired from DISC but we'll need to pre-arrange
that as I don't have a key to the hire shed at this time.
This is a new venture for us at aboc and I hope many of you can
come. Please support us by coming along and being part of
it.
I'll be doing my best to make it challenging and fun as well as a
great way to earn your Sunday night dinner. We chose Sunday night
as it's available (important!) and also means it has the least impact
on the rest of your weekends. You can go away, race road and MTB
races on Saturdays etc and still make it to the sessions.
